Piia Laakso

It was through having a massage and experiencing how amazing, uplifted and free from tension it made her feel that led Piia to train as a massage therapist herself. She has been practising massage therapy since 1998, and trained through the Bristol College of Massage and Bodywork (BCMB). Throughout the years Piia has returned to the College for advanced workshops and has recently finished a Diploma 5 Remedial & Sports Massage course.

Her focus is on dealing with the person’s body and mind, where it is at that moment, to provide a treatment that is in tune with their specific needs at that time.

Piia love’s her work and the instant positive response clients give, that deeper breath, or slight shift and change in the muscle tissue, and the smile on their relaxed faces when they leave the treatment room. That inspires Piia to promote healing and positive wellbeing through massage. She continues to discover new techniques and believes in ongoing training in order to deliver high standard, person focused treatments. Her long experience as a massage therapist, and treating common musculoskeletal complaints, enhances her ability to listen to your body and assist it to heal itself.

Treatment incorporates basic massage techniques and stretching together with more advanced methods like muscle energy technique, soft tissue release, neuromuscular technique and myofascial release work.

The aim is to treat common muscle and joint complaints like muscle imbalance/dysfunction and joint mobility problems that affect our ability to do activities and sports.

Piia is a member of the FHT (the Federation for Holistic Therapists).
